Michael and Joanna's wedding day was so special to capture and there was no shortage of tears from laughter and tears from joy. Last year I had the pleasure of photographing Joanna's sister Jenny's wedding (I probably called Joanna "Jenny" once or twice during the day). It was so fun getting to know Joanna and Michael and their family throughout the last year. In the fall we took engagement pictures in Downtown Detroit where Joanna and Michael had their first date and spent a lot of time together when they were dating. And then just like that here we are on their wedding day on a beautiful spring day. Their ceremony and reception were at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham where they both got ready before we captured their emotional first look together at Shain Park. Then we dodged the sunshine, and then the rain, taking photos around downtown and the library with the bridal party before the festivites began.
